Thrive Financial Dubai was founded by Tom Heelan, a Chartered Accountant with experience in commercial finance, property finance and debt restructuring.
Tom has advised businesses across diverse industries and revenue profiles, successfully structuring and restructuring complex commercial funding solutions. His considered, hands-on approach ensures each solution is precisely aligned with operational requirements and long-term strategic objectives.
Prior to founding Thrive Financial & Business Consultancy, Tom worked for major corporations such as Microsoft, Accenture, Sodexo, and Mater Private. During his career, he has advised SMEs in a variety of industries, such as construction, real estate development, services, healthcare, among others.
Tom is passionate about assisting small business owners and entrepreneurs and recognises that time is the greatest obstacle for small business owners, as well as the inability to research all available funding sources and IT systems in order to advance their business. Tom is aware that employing financial indicators to drive performance improvement in crucial business operations can assist all SMEs in achieving their objectives.
Alexander O’Toole is Co-Founder and Partner of Thrive Financial Dubai and is a qualified ACCA accountant with over 10 years of international experience across practice, industry and group finance roles in Ireland and the UAE. He brings deep technical expertise and hands-on commercial insight to support SMEs, startups and growing businesses with their accounting, tax and financial management needs.
Before co-founding Thrive Financial Dubai, Alexander held senior finance roles across a wide range of sectors including technology, education, construction, events and general practice, where he led finance teams, built finance functions from the ground up and worked closely with boards and shareholders.
Alexander has extensive experience in financial reporting, VAT and corporate tax compliance, management accounting, payroll and audit, and is an expert user of Quickbooks Online, helping clients implement, optimise and scale cloud-based accounting systems. He is passionate about providing clear, practical financial guidance and helping business owners gain control, clarity and confidence in their numbers.
Muhammad Akram is a co-founder and partner of Thrive Financial Dubai, located in Dubai. With more than 20 years of experience in the field, he has assisted clients at all stages of their business lifecycles, from start-ups to large corporations. An Accredited Management Accountant as well as a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, Akram is a Xero expert.
In addition managing the firm’s client relationships, M.Akram has extensive experience in the areas of corporate finance, taxation, outsourced accounting, payroll, and financial management. In addition to working with diverse clientele, Akram has experience working with businesses in different industries including; manufacturing, construction, technology, not-for-profits, retail, hospitality, and the professional services industry. Furthermore, M.Akram has served as a primary point of contact for numerous foreign companies operating in Dubai.
